EMERGENT ACADEMY DANCE COURSES
At Emergent Academy dancers train in all disciplines of dance to become the most versatile performers they can be. Genres include Commercial & Broadway jazz, tricks and techniques, hip hop, lyrical, contemporary, tap, acrobats, classical. Students also study choreography and conditioning, an introduction to musical theatre, business and brand building and audition techniques. Certificate II, Certificate III and Certificate IV can be studied in conjunction with secondary studies.
PART TIME COURSES
CUA20120 CERTIFICATE II IN DANCE
This qualification is a preparatory qualification that allows learners to develop basic to intermediate technical skills and knowledge to prepare for work in the live performance industry and prepare the learner for higher qualifications. After school and in school options available for this qualification. Learners are required to log two hours of dance tuition with their nominated performing arts school as part of their qualification.
Suitable Applicants:
- Australian Citizen
- Minimum 14 years of age or Year 9
- Displaying practical abilities suited to a Certificate II standard
CUA30120 CERTIFICATE III IN DANCE
This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as an entry level dancer in the live performance industry or prepare them for full time study. Individuals are expected to demonstrate application of skills and knowledge expected for dance and live performance contexts. It is expected that learners display a minimum of an intermediate standard of dance in the entry requirements. There are one and two year study options for this qualification and is wonderful for high school students looking to gain credit for WACE.

- Displaying practical abilities suited to a Certificate III standard
CUA40120 CERTIFICATE IV IN DANCE
This qualification reflects individuals aiming to prepare for the world of dance. It is a demanding course extending individual learners in a variety of genres with both theoretical and practical applications. Learners are expected to apply critical thinking and develop independent choreographic approaches to extend themselves as artists. Learners can venture into their career or extend their training with the Diploma in Professional Dance. Learners have the option of studying over two years on a part time basis.

- Displaying practical abilities suited to a Certificate IV standard
FULL TIME COURSES
CUA40120 CERTIFICATE IV IN DANCE
This qualification reflects individuals aiming to prepare for the world of dance. It is a demanding course extending individual learners in a variety of genres with both theoretical and practical applications. Learners are expected to apply critical thinking and develop independent choreographic approaches to extend themselves as artists. Learners can venture into their career or extend their training with the Diploma in Professional Dance. Learners can study full time over one year as a school leaver or as an alternate to high school.

- Minimum 16 years of age or Year 11
- Displaying practical abilities suited to a Certificate IV standard
CUA51520 DIPLOMA IN PROFESSIONAL DANCE (ELITE PERFORMANCE)
This qualification is an elite course that prepares the learner for the professional world of dance. It is a highly demanding course expecting independent application of skills and knowledge as they emerge into individual artists. With the acquired skills, knowledge and experience they can enter the workforce in the pathway of their choice or apply for various university degrees. There are a vast range of disciplines taught and learners will develop their own works as part of the learning process. This is offered on a full time basis only.
